How to store eggs, goat milk and atta at home

Food keeps better when it is stored the right way. Here is what to do with each item when it reaches your home.

Eggs

Keep eggs in the fridge, in their tray, on a shelf and not in the door. The door gets warmer each time you open it.

Do not wash eggs before storing them. Wipe off any dirt with a dry cloth, and wash them just before you cook.

Goat milk

Put the bottle in the fridge as soon as it arrives and keep the lid closed. Do not leave it out on the table between uses.

Fresh milk does not keep for long, so use it within a day or two. If it smells or tastes sour, throw it away. If you boil milk, cool it quickly and put it back in the fridge.

Atta

Move atta to a clean, dry, airtight container and keep it somewhere cool, away from the stove. Damp spoils atta quickly, so always use a dry spoon.

Smell it before you use it. Atta that smells sour or bitter has gone off.
